1)Create a Positive, Welcoming and Safe learning environment to promote the Welfare, Health, and Safety of all Students.
Provide grant funding to teachers and staff to enhance the learning environment and maximize the high school experience.
Provide financial for Emergency Preparedness to allow for stocking and replacement of expired consumables in the storage container.
Partner and support with the school on initiatives that promote the well being of all students, including health screenings, nutrition and other concerns related to teenagers.
Support improvements and resources at the school.
2)Support Communication in the School Community.
Communicate with IHS PTSA through electronic newsletter, the IHS PTSA Website, and utilizing the reader board.
3)Promote Advocacy for issue affecting Families and Students.
Survey the parents regarding their priorities for the WSPTA platform and issues, provide informative articles, participate in WSPTA Focus Day and Legislative Assembly, and encourage communication with elected officials, including local school board.
Encourage students and families to register to vote and then vote!
Inform community of opportunities to make our community better through volunteering, speaking up, and taking action.
4)Promote Enrichment Activities and Programs.
Support IHS activities through the grant process.
Invite IHS student groups to share what they are learning and doing.
Inform families of the many opportunities at IHS.
5) Increase Membership and Parent Involvement.
Strive for a 5% growth in active student and parent memberships.
Strive for 100% teacher membership.
Add 5 New Community Sponsorship's.
6) Encourage Student Health and Safety.
Educate families about health and safety issues as they arise, involve school nurse as a resources for problem-solving.
7) Recognize and Support our Volunteers and Staff.
Provide regular staff appreciation during the year.
Thank volunteers by recognizing them in PTSA Communications, PTSA Meetings, Personal Thank you notes, and in person.
Recognize Outstanding Volunteers, and Educators by purchasing WSPTA PTA Awards that contribute to Washington State PTA college scholarship programs.
Recognize Students who are making a difference through The Making a Difference Award.
